DENTAL APPLIANCES
What is a Dental Appliance?
It takes more than just brushing and flossing to maintain excellent oral health. Those of us who play sports, clench or grind our teeth, or who snore, may find dental appliances helpful in preserving and protecting our oral structures.
Dental appliances offered at Local 1059 Dental Studio – including mouth guards for sports and sleep – can be used to help improve and protect the health of your oral cavity.
Snoring Appliances
Snoring can disrupt your quality of sleep, and have a negative impact on your overall health and your wellbeing.
In patients who snore, their throat tissues relax and cause the airway to restrict, creating the sound of snoring as oxygen is forced through. For these patients, their throat tissues over-relax and block the airway. This sometimes forces the brain to wake them up so they can breathe.
At Local 1059 Dental Studio, we offer custom-fitted oral appliances to shift the lower jaw and tongue muscles to open the airway. This helps improve your oxygen flow, prevents you from waking up during the night, and helps silence snoring so you can get a great night’s rest and wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day.
Custom-Fitted Mouth Guards
The custom-made mouth guards we offer fit over your teeth to safeguard them from damage.
Sports Guards
If you take a hit to the mouth while playing sports, a mouth guard protects your smile by acting as a barrier between your teeth and the soft tissue in your mouth.
Night Guards
Do you grind your teeth when you sleep? A mouth guard will help protect your teeth from damage. If clenching your jaw is the issue, a mouth guard may help to relieve jaw pain by providing cushioning between your upper and lower teeth which may reduce the tension in your jaw.
